ECE selected by Embraer to provide Legacy 450 & Legacy 500 electrical power distribution system
Zodiac Aerospace group, through ECE Company, was selected by Embraer to design, develop, produce and support business jets Legacy 450 & Legacy 500 primary and secondary electrical power distribution system.
The Primary electrical distribution system uses latest design techniques and integrates state of the art ECE electro mechanical contactors including the new 600A DC contactor. Secondary electrical distribution is designed to increase operational efficiency and flexibility with the use of state of the art Solid State Power Controllers (SSPC), and to decrease operating costs.
This new success "reinforces ECE long term partnership with Embraer started on the EMB 120 Banderante, then with ERJ135/ERJ145 family and Legacy 600 by supplying electrical components and on E Jet family by providing primary electrical power distribution box as a Tier 2 of Embraer,. ECE strengthens its system integration positioning with its expertise to perform functional tests for development and up to certification support", says Eric Cotelle, Vice President, Marketing & Sales of ECE
After the successes on Dassault, Bombardier and Gulfstream business jets, this new success strengthens ECE's market place and completes its experience in electrical distribution development, qualification and production, proposed and custom fit on most high-performance business jets. ECE business jets activities also include cockpit equipment and cockpit controls and external lighting system.
ECE electrical power distribution systems currently also equipped long, medium and short-range Airbus, Boeing, Dassault, Bombardier aircraft and Eurocopter or Agusta Westland rotorcrafts. ECE references include the last three commercial aircraft using more electrical architecture: Airbus A380, Boeing B787 and Airbus A350 XWB.
